Emergency First Response Instructor Course

During this course you will build on your skill as an Emergency Responder and focus on developing your instructional abilities to teach these skills to others.


The Instructor course provides training necessary to teach the main Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) CPR & AED and Care for Children courses.


As an Emergency First Response Instructor, courses you can conduct;

  1. Primary Care (CPR) - with optional Oxygen Therapy
  2. Secondary Care (First Aid)
  3. Care For Children
  4. CPR & AED
  5. 12hr Care for Children for Professional Care Providers
  6. Primary Care for Schools
  7. Manual Handling - Once applied for the Specialty Rating
  8. Mental Health Awareness - Apply directly for this rating to EFR if the instructor holds the full 2-day Mental Health First Aid course from Mental Health First Aid (England)
  9. Airbourne Pathogens Awareness – direct application on viewing of the EFR Airborne Pathogens webinar (Emergency First Response® Airborne Pathogen Awareness Distinctive Course - PADI Pros)


Through a multi-media approach of independent study, classroom sessions and practical teaching assignments, you learn to conduct Emergency First Response courses.


Prerequisites

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have completed Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) training in the past 24 months or a be a practicing medical professional such as a physician, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic or Registered Nurse.


First Aid at Work Instructor Module – Upgrade (1 day)

This is an additional upgrade module for qualified EFR Instructors. The First Aid at Work Instructor certification will allow you to train and assess:

  • 1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work (1day)
  • 3 Day First Aid at Work (3 Day)
  • and Refresher Courses.


You will gain valuable experience in teaching skills and assessment methods to use during your First Aid at Work Courses. Becoming an EFR First Aid At Work Instructor will enable you to offer the complete range of first aid training from basic Primary Care (CPR) Courses to HSE First Aid at Work and the use of AED’s and basic constant flow oxygen delivery equipment.

  • Be a Emergency First Response Instructor
  • Have completed a First Aid at Work Course (within last 3 years).
