During this course you will build on your skill as an Emergency Responder and focus on developing your instructional abilities to teach these skills to others.
The Instructor course provides you with the additional training necessary to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) CPR & AED and Care for Children courses.
Through a multi-media approach of independent study, classroom sessions and practical teaching assignments, you learn to conduct Emergency First Response courses.
To enter the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you must be 18 years old and have completed adult, child and infant CPR and first aid training in the past 24 months or a be a practicing medical professional such as a physician, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic and Registered Nurse.
This is an additional upgrade module for qualified EFR Instructors. The First Aid at Work Instructor certification will allow you to train and assess the HSE Emergency First Aid at Work (1day), HSE First Aid at Work (3 Day) and HSE First Aid at Work Refresher Courses when linked with an EFR Centre. Or independalty teach the Manual Handling Course.
You will gain valuable experience in teaching skills and assessment methods to use during your First Aid at Work Courses. Becoming an EFR First Aid Instructor will enable you to offer the complete range of first aid training from basic Appointed Persons First Aid Courses to HSE First Aid at Work and the use of AED’s and basic constant flow oxygen delivery equipment.
